The effort to create the Club was started by a group of parents from the Famagusta free area whose children wanted to take swimming lessons either for safety at sea or because they wanted to take the sport seriously. So the lessons started in private pools (mainly hotels) that did not meet the standards of a competitive swimming pool. Nevertheless, they managed to participate in competitive events of the Cyprus Swimming Federation. However, since there was no naval club in the area, the athletes of the group were hosted by the Larnaca Naval Club in order to ensure their participation in Pancyprian Games, offering several distinctions, points and first places to the team that hosted them ….
